Capricorn had gotten lost from the others a long time ago. And she has yet to find them. She had bean able to survive by killing squirrels and rabbits. Turning back almost to her basic wolf like instincts. Her light gray pelt blended in well with the snow surrounding her. The innocence and playfulness was slowly starting to disappear. She held no hope of ever finding the rest of the sled team. Or a way out of this frozen tundra.
As the sun began to set Capricorn sat down and looked at the swollen moon. It was bright yellow and perfectly clear even in the setting sun's light. She let out a loud mournful howl. Capricorn could never remember ever being so lonely. What she would do for even a lone coyote's company. What had it bean one month two since she had become separated from the others? She could no long remember. The days seam to blend into one another.

Nero stumbled for what seemed the umpteenth time over a protruding root from a near by tree. He yelped in surprise, then pain as he collided with the cold hard stone ground. The Samoyed rolled over gently, checking to make sure he didn't injury anything before slowing rising back to his paws, his strong legs protesting at having to do more roaming. Nero had been roaming the lands for a few days now, hoping to somehow blindly run into one of his team mates, which he had so far not done, but it was better than doing nothing, right? Legs still protesting horribly, Nero sat on his hunches allowing his sore paw pads a break from the unforgiving cruel rock face of the mountain side. The male glanced at his once cloud-white fur sorrowfully, it was now splattered with slush and dirt that painted his coat an unattractive brown colour. Nero snorted out his frustrations and looked around for somewhere to rest. He could try again tomorrow when it was light out once more. The dog's entire being froze when a long mournful howl broke the otherwise still and silent night. That sounded... familiar, almost like Capricorn! Nero leaped to his paws and without hesitation threw his head back, letting out a calling howl. He could feel his heart beating as his thoughts raced; please, please answer! I don't want to be alone anymore!

Capricorn rested her head on her paws and just stared blankly at her surroundings. She was so tired. Ever since she was separated from the rest of the sled team all she did was walk and walk trying to find them. Her paws where raw and a little bloody from constantly walking on the rough stone of the mountain that the snow seamed to do little help with protecting her soft pads. Just as she was about to drift asleep she hear an echoing howl. She jumped up and looked around. The howl sounded so familiar but it had bean so long since she heard another dog she couldn't remember who it was.
Capricorns eyes scanned the horizon but saw nothing. She than decided to let out another howl. Raising her head she let out a loud echoing howl and held it for as long as she could. Taking a deep breath she than screamed out. "Hello, hello I'm here can you hear me?" She ran towards the direction she thought the howl had come from ignoring the pain coming from her paws with every step. As Capricorn ran she let out another howl, hoping, begging that who ever it was replied and that they where near by.

Nero jumped up in excitement at the answering howl, he could stop a bark of happiness slip past his jaws. He staggered forward before breaking into a run. His tail was wagging furiously behind him, throwing the young dog off balance from time to time, but he ignore it in favor of releasing yet another howl. This howl was quickly echo by another from the other dog, it seemed to say [i[I can hear! I am coming! Nero's paced was slowed as he pushed himself up a hill, avoiding the sparse amount of trees and jumping over a log. He reached the top of the hill and quickly found the source of the howling, the charging form of Capricorn heading towards him, her head still thrown back in howl. Nero barked in excitement, hoping to get the female's attention. "Capricorn!" He cried happily, pelting down the hill at full speed to meet her. Unfortunately, in the dark and in his excitement, Nero didn't see a rabbit hole in his path. Before he could even take breath for a yelp, Nero tripped, head over paws down the hill and rolled to a stop at the bottom of it. "I'm okay!" He barked, jumping to his paws only to fall down once again from dizziness. "Well, I will be in a few seconds." He mumbled, shaking his head hoping to clear away the dizziness.

Capricorns eyes brightened up as she spotted Nero and picked up speed running as fast as possible. "NERO" She couldn't help but giggle as he tripped over the rabbit hole. She ran up to him and buried her muzzle into his pelt. "I'm so glad to see you. I have missed you guys so much. Where are the others? Are you ok did you hurt yourself?" Capricorn licked his muzzle and ears a low whimper escaping her. Joy filled her she wasn't alone any more. And she wouldn't be alone again for a long time. Now that she had Nero for company. "Where are the others Nero? Are they nearby?" She listened for any more howls but heard nothing.
