Stern listened to the flood of words that Blue let go, the torrent that rushed out. It was more than she had ever learned about his past before. She sighed and wondered about how she should reply to that speech. Obviously, her life was good when compared to his, "I'm sorry, Blue, about your past. I'm sorry that you had to live through that much torture, and I know it must have been hard. But now, you have a family that cares about you, and you won't be left alone again. You have all of us here, and we all care about you."

Blue smiled, standing up and shaking some snow from his pelt that had started to fall from the sky. It was cold, and he would need to find shelter, they all would. "Thank you Stern, I understand now and yes. Torture is the word to describe it perfectly. It was horrible, but it's gone now. In the past. And despite how unfortunate I still am, I will walk with my head up high and a bounce in my steps." He barked, his tail starting to wag once again.

Stern stood as well, "You never have to thank me for listening, Blue. If that is what helps you, then I am glad to do that for you." She dipped her head slightly to him, "I'm glad that you are ready to let it go now. Holding on to things is never good." Her eyes clouded for a moment as she remembered the times she had held on to feelings for too long, but then she shook her head, "Should we start heading back to the team? We need to find shelter if it is going to snow again."
