I'm only eight years from you. So leave a old guy alone .
NAME . Bear
PRONUNCIATION . Bear
TEAM OR FERAL Team
BREED . Great Pyrenees
APPEARANCE . Bear is easily the biggest dog on the team, standing at almost 1m (40 inch) at the withers. His massive size is mostly made of muscles from years of racing and towing sleds around. Despite originally being born a runt, this Great Pyrenees is above average size for his breed and happily flaunts his size over other dogs because he was originally so small. Bear's fur is a thick double coat and the colour of the purest snow. His nose is black with a patch of missing fur above his nose from his old age. His eyes are an unusual dark green colour. Bear is a endurance runner with a lot of muscles because of his position as wheel dog. He also wears a red bandanna around his neck.
PERSONALITY . Bear lives up to his name with not only his size, but also his protectiveness. He loves his team and can become very aggressive when they are threatened. In accordance with his old age, Bear has knowledge beyond that of most dogs and has a great sense of direction because of it. He can point out certain stars and the positions of the sun to know exactly where he is and where he is heading. Along with his old age, Bear has a typical tendency to complain about aches and pains as well as young, hyper-active dogs. This is why Bear and Nero don't get along very well.
Bear is a very morally strong dog, he does not tolerate inequality or wrong doing. He believes in justice and will stick up for any dog in trouble. Bear has gotten to that point in his age where he has come to the realization that he will die soon, and decided to give his life to his team before he dies.
HISTORY . Bear was originally born a runt on a breeding farm in Canada. The owners didn't think he would make it, but he did, and survived to be an unusually obedient. As like the rest of his breed, he was very protective and at six months old he was adopted by a man who owned a horse ranch. Bear took to protecting the herd of horses along with a few other dogs at the ranch. The Great Pyrenees didn't like other dogs very much, but got along with the humans famously. During the winter time, Bear was used by the ranchers to transport hay for the horses around the farm with a sled. This was how he was first exposed to dog sledding, but it would not be the last time.
Bear had been living on the farm for two years when some people approached his owners wondering if they could use Bear for their dog sledding team because they lost a wheel dog recently. Bear's owners agreed reluctantly, knowing that Bear didn't like others of his kind very much. Surprisingly, Bear took to sledding like a fish to water, there was just something about running through a blazing blizzard that made it feel like something Bear had been missing for a long time had finally fallen into place.
From then on, Bear ran with that team for three more years every winter. He had also fallen in love with one of the females on the team, Jade. The two Great Pyrenees had a littler of pups together, two males and one female. Bear never really got to watch them grow up.
He was traded to a different team in Alaska, which is where he first meet Mr. Brisyen. The man was instantly taken with Bear and tried to get him to join his team but his owners refused, saying he still had a few years left with his current team. Mr. Brisyen never gave up though, when Bear turned 7 years old, Mr. Brisyen finally managed to get him on his team, despite his age. Bear became attached to Mr. Brisyen over the years and two thought of each other as old friends. Bear continued to race despite his old age, and he was in his last year of racing when Mr. Brisyen was killed.
